The ISNB Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Unit provides treatment and care services in the field of intensive care and reanimation, with particular expertise in critical neurosurgical and neurological diseases and pain therapy. The unit provides care activities in multiple corporate, metropolitan and regional ISNB PDTAs.

Care activities

Every year, more than 4,000 operations are performed, over 1,000 of which are sedation outside the operating theatre (NORA)
The Anaesthesia and Reanimation Unit manages the treatment of acute postoperative pain and the therapy of chronic neuropathic pain, especially of spinal origin, carried out on an outpatient and DH basis. In addition, the Anaesthesia and Reanimation Unit manages the Intensive Care Centre equipped with 12 beds, technologically advanced diagnostic, monitoring and intensive care instrumentation with advanced IT support.

The skills and internal organisation are particularly geared towards the diagnosis and treatment of serious neurological pathologies, especially cerebral pathologies, both surgical (pre-postoperative) and medical (status epilepticus, acute metabolic cerebral coma, infectious and inflammatory encephalopathies in the acute phase).
