SERVICE OF CONTINUITY ASSISTANCE

The Service of Continuity Assistance (Guardia Medica) is aimed at the entire population, adults and children, and ensures non-deferrable nocturnal, festive and pre-hospital health services.

The service is available from 20 to 8 every night and from 8 to 20 in the days before holidays, public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays (before holidays that fall on a weekday the service is available from 10 rather than from 8).

The Service:

  • is free for all persons residing in the Region or domiciled with the chosen doctor in Emilia Romagna
  • is charged to Italian citizens who are not residents in the Region or domiciled without the chosen doctor in Emilia Romagna, as well as foreign citizens temporarily staying in Italy according to the following rates:

 • Outpatient visit: euro 15.00
 • Home visit: euro 25.00

THE SERVICE OF CONTINUITY ASSISTANCE OFFERS:

  • Telephone consulting;
  • Home medical examination for immovable and irremovable assisted persons;
  • Outpatient visit only in Bologna est, Bologna ovest, San Lazzaro di Savena, Casalecchio di Reno, Alto reno Porretta, San Pietro in Casale, San Giovanni in persiceto,  Mon / Fri 20-22; Sat / Sun and holidays 10-12 and 16-18. IMPORTANT: Due to COVID crisis, outpatient access is currently only available after calling 051 3131 and having agreed with the doctor the time of access
  • Non-differentiated prescriptions of drugs (in the minimum necessary quantities);
  • Certification of sickness, only for shift workers, on the days before and on public holidays, for a maximum of three days starting from the day on which the disease was actually recorded;
  • Certification of Status of Death and, not in agreement, the Voluntary Body Transport Certificate.

THE SERVICE OF CONTINUITY ASSISTANCE DOES NOT OFFER:

  • Nursing services not related to the medical examination (intramuscular / intravenous- replacing bladder catheters, gastric nose tubes, dressings ...);
  • Repetitions of recipes in differentiated chronic therapies;
  • Prescription of some specific drugs (AIFA NOTE). In these cases, the prescription can only occur by showing a diagnosis or therapeutic plan (and, in any case, to a definite extent);
  • Transcriptions on NHS recipe book of specialist and pharmaceutical prescriptions of other doctors;
  • Certificates of illness for non-shift workers;
  • Certificates for sports activities, certificates of good health, or certificates for insurance purposes;
  • Certifications of accidents at work;
  • Prescriptions / transcriptions of diagnostic, instrumental and specialist examinations;

 

TO ACCESS THE SERVICE OF CONTINUITY ASSISTANCE THE USER MUST EXHIBIT
THE HEALTH CARD AND A VALID IDENTITY DOCUMENT.
